Getting the Insulation Right
We don’t just slap on a single seal and call it a day. That’s how things fail. Instead, we start with the bones of the system. We use double-insulated cabling that can take a beating from the heat. Every single connection point is either potted or sealed tight with silicone gaskets. We’re basically creating a fortress to keep moisture away from the terminals. And because safety isn’t a suggestion, the chassis is grounded. If a component ever decides to quit, the current hits the earth bond and trips your breaker instantly. You won’t feel a thing because the power shuts off before the outer casing ever gets energized. Just make sure your home’s RCD is up to the task—it needs to be fast enough to handle these types of trips.
The Balancing Act: Heat vs. Water
Here’s the tricky part: if you seal a heater too tightly, you’ve basically built an oven that cooks its own internals. You can’t just airtight the whole thing. To fix this, we use breathable membranes and custom vents. They’re clever little things that let the heat breathe and escape, but they stop liquid water from getting inside. We also use quartz-glass for the lamps. But the real secret is in the sockets—we keep them recessed and shielded. This stops condensation from pooling right on the live contacts. The Real World (Installation)
Look, a fancy IP44 rating doesn’t mean much if the installation is sloppy. One big tip: always use adrip loop. If you run your cables with a slight downward dip before they enter the junction box, gravity does the work for you. Water will just drip off the bottom of the loop instead of sliding straight into your electronics. And please, don’t cheap out on the mounting brackets. Use corrosion-resistant materials. There’s nothing worse than having perfectly good electricals fall on your head because the bracket rusted through.
