When you’re fabricating bio-sensors, the heat has to be exactly right. Not “close enough,” but exact. If a single IR lamp has a tiny voltage leak or a spot where the insulation is failing, you aren’t just looking at a ruined batch of sensors—you’re looking at tripped breakers and a dead production line. For us, electrical integrity isn’t just a checkbox. It’s the whole point.
No Such Thing as “Good Enough” Sampling
A lot of companies test a few random tubes from a batch and call it a day. We don’t do that. We putevery single lamp tubethrough Hi-Pot (voltage withstand) and insulation resistance testing before it leaves our doors. Why? Because sampling is a gamble. You only need one faulty tube to short out your entire line, and that’s a gamble you shouldn’t have to take. We push the insulation to its absolute limit. We want to make sure no current is leaking through the quartz or the seals. If a tube doesn’t hold up? It goes in the scrap bin. It’s the only way to make sure you don’t deal with “infant mortality”—that frustrating moment where a brand new part fails the second you wire it into your gear.
Dealing With the Heat
High-wattage lamps get incredibly hot. That’s their job, but that heat puts a massive amount of stress on the insulation. When you’ve got these lamps packed into a tight space, arcing becomes a real threat. Our testing makes sure the barrier between the energized filament and the housing stays solid, no matter how hot things get. But here’s the thing: we can provide a perfect lamp, but your setup has to match. Even the best insulation won’t save you if your connectors are corroded or your grounding loop is broken. Just double-check your wiring while you’re at it.
